Biography Assoc. Prof. Maria Staevska is a specialist in internal medicine and allergist. She graduated from the Higher Medical Institute in Sofia in 1991. She acquired the specialty of Internal Medicine in 1997 and Clinical Allergology in 1999. In 2013, she received a doctorate in medicine after successfully defending a dissertation in the field of treatment of severe chronic urticaria. Additional qualifications: - She has successfully completed training in immunogenetics in allergology at the Institut Pasteur, Paris, France, and in allergology - at the Medical University of Besancon, France; - She has taken an intensive course in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Medical University, Varna; - She has training in drug allergy at the Medical University - Lodz, Poland. Since 1992 she has been working at the Clinical Center of Allergology, Faculty of Medicine, at the Medical University in Sofia, University Hospital "Alexandrovska", and since 2014 she has been an associate professor, from 2022 - full professor. Since 2016, she has been the head of the Department of Allergology at the Medical University in Sofia, and since 2017 she has been the head of the Clinic of Clinical Allergology at Alexandrovska University Hospital. From 2019 she is the President of Bulgarian Society of Allergology.
